Yin & Yoga Nidra--Sweet Release

Experience self care with Yin & Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra, also known as "Yogic Sleep" or sleep with awareness, is a unique way to unwind the nervous system, the body's foundation of well-being. with guided imagery and body scanning we will take a systematic approach to relaxation that allows the practitioner to physiologically and psychologically sink into it. A holistic approach to healing the physiologic, neurologic, and subconscious body.  Yin Yoga offers deeper access to the body, targeting the connective tissue and fascia, with poses being held for 3-5 minutes. A more passive style of yoga, this class will focus on seated/reclined postures encouraging the release of “stuck” energy along the spinal pathway. Through release we create space, allowing our Prana, life force energy, to flow freely and with ease. We will begin with approx . 30 min of Yin Yoga to prepare the body for relaxation, followed by a 45 min Yoga Nidra.   All levels and abilities welcomed.

If you are interested in meditation but find solo practice challenging, you may enjoy being led in a group format. Or, if you already practice on your own but would like to experience the power of group meditation, please consider joining me at Quest Fitness on Friday, March 8 @ 5:30pm for a 30 min sit in a peaceful, quiet space of the Yoga Studio. Even though meditation is often seen as an individual practice, the resonance effect of doing it in a group can make meditation more profound personally and socially.

This class is suitable for all! No experience necessary.

Seating options: On yoga mat (with blankets/blocks for comfort) or in a chair.

No equipment needed. Comfortable dress.

Restorative Yoga & Reiki

JOIN Holly Brooks and Amanda Jacobsen as they collaborate for an afternoon of self-care and relaxation. You will be guided into nurturing restorative postures to cultivate peacefulness in order to let go of patterns of holding and allow layers of tension to melt away.

Each posture is supported with various props so your physical body may be fully held without expending energy or effort. To enhance the experience, you will receive hands-on/off Reiki with a gentle and healing touch. Reiki is an ancient healing modality that encourages your body’s natural healing energy to flow so that you may come into subtle body alignment. These two practices work synergistically to encourage deep rest and optimal health/immunity.

All levels and abilities are welcome.

Join me for a three part series introducing the practice and principles of Yoga. We will explore basic postures (poses that you will see in almost every yoga class), touch on theory (what is yoga, exactly?), and basic meditation/breathwork (don’t worry… you don’t have to be good at sitting still!). It is my sincere desire to encourage conversation, demonstration, and play time, that will build the foundation for a healthy and safe yoga practice. This informational series is designed to meet the needs of a brand new beginner or the practitioner who wishes to re-connect with their yoga practice.
